All repairs and alterations to garments must be performed according to the original garment manufacturer’s specifications. All repairs and alterations to the ensemble or ensemble element shall be done using like materials and components as the manufacturer’s method of construction which are compliant with NFPA 1971, Standard on Protective Ensembles for Structural Fire Fighting and Proximity Fire Fighting. Repairs must be performed by the original manufacturer, a verified ISP who has received training, or a member of the organization who has received training, per the latest edition of NFPA 1851.
Complete documentation of all advanced repairs will be kept on file by Florida PPE Services for the life of the garment.
